Tirupati: A rally under the banner of Hindu DevalayalaParirakshanaSamsthawas taken out here on Monday expressing solidarity to Sri Peetam seer Paripoornananda Swamy who is spearheading a struggle against film critic Kathi Mahesh.
The rally started at Sri KodandaRamalayamand concluded at Padalamandapam,Alipiri where the participants broke coconuts praying God to give a good sense of mind to Mahesh to refrain from hurting the sentiments of others.
Samsthapresident Pawan Pratapa Rao sought Telangana government to set free Paripoornananda from house arrest. He demanded stern action on Mahesh and also on the TV channels for creating animosity among people and hurting sentiments of majority Hindus.
Activists of various Hindu organisations, psychologists Dr Sudhakar Reddy, temple priest VenugopalaDeekshithulu, senior journalist Srinivasulu and others took part.
