Guntur: District Collector Kona Sasidhar reviewed implementation Vayovrudhula Poshana Chattam -2007 over videoconference from Collectorate with municipal commissioners, Tahsildars and MPDOs on Thursday.
Speaking on this occasion, he said offspring should take care of those who attained 60 years of age.
He instructed the officials to educate people on this Act and conduct meetings to remind responsibility of children to take care of their parents.
He further said that some children were taking properties of their parents and not taking their care.
He directed the officials to conduct counselling for such persons and ensure that a sum of Rs 10,000 reach the parents to meet their maintenance expenses and instructed the officials to see that it is implemented at mandal-level.
Guntur Irban SP Ch Vijaya Rao, Joint Collector Imtiaz, among those participated.
