Stay at workplace or quit job, Collector K Bhaskar warns officials

Eluru: West Godavari District Collector K Bhaskar has warned the officials and staff to quit the job, if they cannot stay at villages where they were posted.

He convened a meeting with Panchayat Secretaries here on Friday, to review sanitation and development works in villages.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that it was important for the officials to stay at the place of posting as they could discharge duties efficiently.

He said that when the officials stay in other places, the development of villages suffers a setback apart from increased mental pressure on the officials. He warned them to face stringent action if they failed to shift to places of work henceforth.

Those reluctant to work at work places had many drawbacks in them. If they feel that it was difficult to stay in villages, it would be good for them to resign, he said.

The Collector asked the officials not to expect felicitations and awards. It would be more than an award if they stay in respective villages and available to people there.

When one performs duties with ‘work is worship’ spirit and be answerable to people, they would earn accolades from the people.

The people would never forget such officials and remember them forever, he added.
