Vijayawada: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) state vice-president Ch Rajinikanth handed over saplings to the management of Kendriya Vidyalayam at Satyanarayanapuram here on Wednesday.

Later, he took part in the plantation of saplings on the school premises as part of Prime Minister Modi’s programme ‘Each one Plant one’.

Addressing the gathering, Rajinikanth said that these plants would grow into big trees and provide a healthy atmosphere to the coming generations.

He said that in the wake of urbanization, trees were being cut. He said that the natural air which comes from the trees was healthy.

However, people were getting used to air conditioners which were not good for health and consuming huge power.

School principal Hariom Upadaya said that planting saplings was admirable and said that these plants would grow and give good health and mental relief to the students.

He said that everyone should take the responsibility to safeguard the trees and create awareness on plantation, he added.
