DD, AIR staff holds gate meeting at Dooradarshan, Vijayawada

Vijayawada: The Dooradarshan and All India Radio programme personnel held a gate meeting during lunch hour at Dooradarshan, Vijayawada as part of a nationwide agitation to resolve various demands here on Wednesday.

L Giri Rao, programme head said that the staff organised a protest against the recruitment of non-professionals on deputation basis at various higher level programme posts by denying the due promotions to programme officers who have been working for the organisation despite various odd situations at various stations.

Rao said that the staff demanded filling up of all vacant posts immediately by giving promotions to the existing programme personnel who were denied of their legitimate promotions for the past 25 years.

The staff also demanded immediate withdrawal of deputation posts in which unqualified people were working in programme posts.

PCV Satyanarayana, Programme Head, AIR and other programme personnel participated in the lunch hour gate meeting.
