Ruckus at the municipal corporation council meeting led to suspension and arrest of YSR Congress Party corporators here on Saturday for which pandemonium prevailed for some time

Rajamahendravaram: Ruckus at the municipal corporation council meeting led to suspension and arrest of YSR Congress Party corporators here on Saturday for which pandemonium prevailed for some time.
Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai postponed the council meeting for 30 minutes to restore normalcy.
The council unanimously passed a resolution for the arrest of YSRCP corporators and with this, police arrested the corporators and YSRCP city coordinator Routhu Suryaprakasa Rao and shifted them to Three Town Police Station and later released them.
The trouble started when Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai decided to discuss on agenda instead of going into Question Hour.
With this, YSRCP Floor leader Medapati Sharmila Reddy and corporators demanded that the Mayor take up Question Hour first instead of going to agenda. But the Mayor rejected their request.
With this, heated arguments took place between the corporators of YSRCP and TDP and pandemonium prevailed for some time in the council when the YSRCP corporators staged a dharna at the podium, raising slogans against Mayor.
With this, the Mayor suspended seven YSRCP corporators and sent them out with the help of police. But the corporators entered into press gallery and raised slogans against the Mayor.
Then, the council unanimously passed a resolution for the arrest of YSRCP corporators.
Meanwhile, YSRCP city coordinator Routhu Suryaprakasa Rao entered the scene to express his solidarity with the party corporators who were arrested.
Later, Routhu Suryaprakasa Rao alleged that the Mayor suspended the corporators without reason.
MP Maganti Murali Mohan said the corporators should behave with dignity and decorum in the council and use the council to discuss about civic problems.
Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary alleged YSRCP corporators disturbed the council meeting without proper reason and they intentionally created problem though the Mayor assured to allot time for Question Hour.
MLC Adireddy Appa Rao, Deputy Mayor Vasireddy Rambabu, TDP floor leader V Srinivasa Rao, commissioner Sumit Kumar and others were present.
