Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram): Happy Sunday was celebrated here under the aegis of ITDA. The event was kicked off with 5K Run for tribals highlighting the spirit of sports and fitness among the tribal youth. Later, competitions were conducted for youth, women and children.

Addressing the gathering, MLC D Jagdish, MLA B Chiranjeevulu, municipal chairperson D Sridevi, ITDA project director G Lakshmisa and ASP Deepika Patil participated in the programme and highlighted the importance of engaging the youth in extracurricular activities to improve both physical and mental health to face challenges in life.

Lakshmisa advised the students and youth to accord priority to sports and games which enhance the physical stamina and improves mind power too. The youth should not involve in unwanted activities which would damage their character and reputation and affects their future and career too.

Youth should concentrate on improving knowledge and reach higher positions in their life, he said. ASP Deepika Patil expressed happiness and thanked the district administration for orgaising the event.
