Rajamahendravaram Mayor suppressing opposition, alleges YSRCP

Rajamahendravaram: YSRCP floor leader in the council Medapati Sharmila Reddy has alleged that Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai, with the support of TDP Corporators, suppressing opposition parties and not allowing to raise the problems of their divisions in the council meetings. Speaking to reporters at Press Club here on Monday, she said YSRCP corporators were suspended and later arrested at the behest of mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai in the recent council meeting.
The mayor intentionally resorted to this act to send YSRCP corporators from the council with a fear that the facts relating to some issues may be raised in the council meeting. The mayor was not conducting standing council meetings as per the schedule to safeguard her interests. Recently, standing council meeting was held with the pressure mounted by ministers, she alleged.
“What is the use in conducting the house without quorum,” she questioned. The officials were not giving replies to the questions raised by the corporators in the council meetings and the officials were sending replies nominally two days before the council meeting, she alleged.
