Workshop on port-based industry held

Visakhapatnam: A one-day industry specific workshop on port sector was conducted on Friday at CISF unit of the Visakhapatnam Port Trust in which senior officers of 17 port sector-based CISF units across the country took part.

Apart from CISF officials, several eminent dignitaries, including MT Krishna Babu, Chairman of Visakhapatnam Port Trust, Anand Mohan, Inspector General of CISF south sector, PL Haranadh, Deputy Chairman, Visakhapatnam Port Trust, AK Harbola, Inspector General of Indian Coast Guard, Hardeep Singh, DIG of CISF, South Zone headquarters, and JP Azad, Commandant, CISF unit, Visakhapatnam Port Trust, enlightened the participants through their experiences and enriched the minds with their valuable inputs regarding the challenges on coastal security and future threat perception targeting the exposed Coast Line of Indian territory.

A brain storming session among the participants was conducted to chalk out a conclusive plan emphasising the overall security aspects of coastal security in general and port security in particular. The minutes chalked out during the workshop would be shared among sister agencies for needful follow up.
