Dr Debnath Battacharya, Dean of Research and Development of Vignans Institute of Information Technology Autonomous, received a patent in medical imaging

Visakhapatnam: Dr Debnath Battacharya, Dean of Research and Development of Vignan’s Institute of Information Technology (Autonomous), received a patent in medical imaging.

The official journal of patent office, Government of India, New Delhi, has published the details of the patent.

Dr Debnath has applied for patent in system and method for segmentation of normal and abnormal brain tissues from Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in July 2018 and he got the official acceptance through this publication recently.

Dr Debnath has already published more than 200 papers in international journals and obtained three patents.

Dr V Madhusudhana Rao, Rector, and Dr Ch Narasimham, Principal, Deans, HoDs and faculty congratulated Dr Debnath for his achievement. Dr Debanth was felicitated by the management on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Ch Sekhar, assistant professor, CSE, has recently participated in international conference held in Korea and acted as one of the mentors for the student participants across the globe.

The rector, principal, staff and management appreciated and congratulated Sekhar for getting such honour from India.

Sekhar and two students, including Karthik (IV CSE) and Sharming (IV CSE), received 100 per cent sponsorship from Jeju National University, Korea, to participate in the international conference.
