Kadapa: In accordance with the directions from Chief Minister N.Chandra Babu Naidu, the district administration is effectively implementing the Land Purchasing Scheme(LPS) in a big way with the aim of promoting social and economic standards of down trodden communities in the district.

As resumption of assigned lands from the land grabbers which were originally allotted to SC,ST beneficiaries has become difficult task due to various reasons, the government introduced LPS in the interest of SCs in the state.

As per LPS, government would identify the lands in every constituency which are not under cultivation. Then the lands would be developed by providing infrastructure facilities and later handed over to the SC, ST beneficiaries. Government would facilitate agriculture motors, power connections, supplying seeds and fertilisers on maximum subsidy.

Based on status of soil, water availability, government would recommend to the beneficiaries about what kind of crops need to be irrigated in the proposed lands. If they are suitable for irrigating horticulture crops, or vegetable leaves, or flowery culture, government will give top priority to provide micro irrigation or sprinkle irrigation facility to the lands.

In case the land is cultivable for traditional crop like paddy, water facility will be provided through canals or agriculture motor pump sets besides other facilities. Kadapa district is having more SC Population in the constituencies like Badvel, Railway Kodur, B.Kodur, Pulivendula, Kalasapadu, Kasinayina and Porumamilla mandals compared to other districts in the state.

In this back drop, Chief Minister had directed the officials to implement the LPS in all mandals in the interest of strengthening living standards of down trodden communities by promoting them as land owners. As part of this initiative, Joint collector Koteswara Rao has visited Nakkala Dinne village of Proddaturu mandal on Sunday.
