Ongole: Andhra Pradesh State Women’s Commission Chairperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari reiterated that the commission and other Child and Women Protection Committees will never let the molesters slip away from the legal system and see that the culprits spend their life behind the bars for the heinous crimes they committed against the children and women.

Rajakumari visited the 46 girl students rescued from the clutches of Pastor K Joseph at Balasadan in Ongole on Wednesday. The pastor Joseph used to molest the girls at the school and hostel run by his organisation, Indian Evangelistic and Relief Fellowship in Ongole.

She said that it is her responsibility as the Chairperson of Women’s Commission to visit the girls and provide comfort to them. “I told the girls not to fear about anything and asked them to choose their interested medium and join the schools offered by the government to continue studies and games”, she assured.

She further stated that she ordered all the institutions already to provide toilets and CCTV cameras in work places where women are also a part of it. She advised not to bring caste and religion in support of people who committed heinous crimes like these and asked the officials to keep a vigil on organisations.

She appreciated the efforts of Child Welfare Committee of Prakasam district and its chairperson Ch Bharati, Women Commission member Ramadevi, Women and Child Welfare Department, ICDS officials and the Collector and SP for reacting fast in rescue and provision of shelter to the children, arrest of the pastor.

Rajakumari condemned the comments that the floods in Kerala are due to the anger of God for allowing women in Ayyappa temple. She demanded that the government initiate action against those people creating and spreading messages like this. She also assured that she is demanding justice to Ayesha Meera since the very first day and will see that the real criminals are punished.
