Eye donation campaign fortnight from today in Vijayawada
In response to a call given by Eye Bank Association of India, Government of India, an eye donation campaign would be organised for a fortnight starting from August 25 to September 8 by the Swetcha Gora Eye Bank here, according to SGEB executive director Dr G Samaram
Vijayawada: In response to a call given by Eye Bank Association of India, Government of India, an eye donation campaign would be organised for a fortnight starting from August 25 to September 8 by the Swetcha Gora Eye Bank here, according to SGEB executive director Dr G Samaram.
He said that NTR University of Health Sciences vice-chancellor Dr CV Rao would be the chief guest of the programme which would be held at Vasavya Mahila Mandali on August 28.
He said that essay-writing competition would be held for students at 2 pm on VMM premises on August 29. On August 30, a painting competition would be held at the same venue at 2 pm, he said.
Singing competition would be organised at 3 pm on August 31, followed by quiz competition at 2.30 pm on September 1 and slogans competition at 2 pm on September 1, said Dr Samaram.
On September 6, a free screening camp would be organised for the blind on the VMM premises and operation would be done free of cost.
He said that awareness camps would be held at schools, colleges, institutions, hospitals, NGO organisations, corporate offices and other places in the city.
The winners of the competition would be given prizes on September 8, Dr Samaram added.
