Vijayawada: A lorry driver lost his mental balance after an overdose of anaesthesia administered by doctors of a private hospital for surgery here. Though the incident took place on Sunday, it came to light only on Monday when the brother of the victim lodged a complaint with Suryaraopet police.
According to information, Shaik Baji, a lorry driver of Vijayawada, was admitted to a private hospital with stomach pain. The doctors there decided to perform a surgery and administered anaesthesia. Due to overdose, the victim lost mental balance.
The panicked family members shifted him to the GGH, Guntur. The GGD doctors reportedly expressed helplessness as he was suffering from excessive dose of anaesthetics. Police booked a case against the private hospital located on Dornakal road in the city.
