Tirupati: Urban SP Abhishek Mohanty gave a call to cops to follow discipline while discharging security duties for the Brahmotsavams which would begin in Tirumala from Thursday. On Wednesday morning, police officials and personnel, who were drafted for security in Tirumala, were allotted duties at various points. Addressing the cops, the SP instructed them to talk politely with pilgrims and assist them.
He warned of taking action against those police, who show negligence in discharging their duties. He stated crowd management is the most important task in Brahmotsavams. In addition, student volunteers will support the cops in providing security, he mentioned. About 2,600 police personnel were deployed for security of Brahmotsavams. In the roll call programme, Tirumala DSP Eshwar Reddy, CIs and other police officials were present.
