Vijayawada: VMC Commissioner J Nivas here on Friday conducted a field-level survey of apron at Sitamma Padalu at Krishna River Prakasam barrage where the Ganesh Idols will be immersed.

As part of the routine inspection of the city, the Commissioner visited the apron where the Ganesh idols will be immersed.

He enquired with the officials about the arrangements made for the immersion programme.

The Commissioner instructed the officials to deploy three cranes, one poclain, one bulldozer and a few tippers for the Ganesh immersion and further ordered the field staff to clear the garbage through tippers and also install toilets for the devotees here.

He said that all arrangements should be made for the smooth going of the Ganesh immersion programme without creating any trouble to the devotees.

He said as most of the Ganesh idols would be immersed at the apron in the night time, elaborate arrangements like lighting facility at the immersion places should be provided.

He further said that drinking water should be supplied to the devotees and ordered the engineers to take steps to repair the road which lead to the apron.
