Kurnool: Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy performing bhoomi pooja for the construction of NTR Indoor Stadium at Venkatramana Colony here on Thursday. The indoor stadium would be constructed at a cost of Rs 2 crore.
Accompanied by Zilla Parishad Chairman Mallela Rajasekhar Goud, Rajya Sabha member TG Venkatesh, MP Butta Renuka, MLC KE Prabhakar, city MLA SV Mohan Reddy and District Collector S Satyanarayana, Krishnamurthy has performed bhoomi puja. Speaking on the occasion, TG Venkatesh said Kurnool is becoming the hub for various sports.
“We will strive for the development of sports and take steps for the construction of indoor stadiums on the premises of the Government General Hospital here and at Joharapuram. Playing sports improves health and maintains mental stability, stated Venkatesh. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr CB Harinath Reddy, RDO BK Venkateshwarulu, Setkur CEO Sudhakar Reddy, Tahsildars of Kallur and Kurnool were present.
