Srikakulam: The severe cyclonic storm Titli caused enormous damage to farm sector in Srikakulam district. The total loss due to cyclone was estimated at Rs 1,156 crore of it farm sector loss was estimated as Rs 580 crore.

Paddy, cotton, sugarcane and other agriculture crops were severely damaged in 13,984 hectares. Horticulture crops damaged in an extent of 4,513 hectares and the total loss was estimated as Rs 580 crore.

The cyclone damaged 30,136 houses totally, 9,257 houses partially and another 10,266 houses located in low-lying areas were inundated by flood waters and the total loss was estimated as Rs 210.11 crore. Dur to cyclone, seven persons lost their lives, 368 domestic animals, 1,030 meat animals, 41,433 birds were perished and the total loss was put at Rs 1.60 crore. Due to strong gales, 16 cattle sheds were collapsed.

The R&B roads in an extent of 360 km length were badly affected causing a loss of Rs 48 crore. Panchayat roads in 192 km length and three buildings were affected and loss was estimated as Rs 99.05 crore. Loss of municipal roads and drains was estimated as Rs 8.45 crore.

Minor irrigation projects suffered a loss of Rs 8.25 crore, followed by major irrigation projects Rs 18.80 crore and the AP state irrigation development corporation suffered a loss of Rs 6.82 crore. Loss for rural water supply (RWS) wing was estimated as Rs 88.50 lakh as 377 water schemes suffered a huge damage.

Fisheries department suffered a loss of Rs 9.35 crore as 913 boats and 4,701 nets damaged due to cyclone. In total 22,887 electric poles, 50 sub-stations of 33KV, 380 sub-stations of 11 KV, 101 sub-stations of 33/11 KV were damaged and the total loss was estimated as Rs 29.50 crore for electricity department. Out of total 1,377 cellphone towers of all telecom companies, 822 towers were damaged due to cyclone.
