Ongole: The joint collector of Prakasam district S Nagalakshmi announced that the Syndicate Bank, which is the lead bank of the district is way ahead than any bank in implementation of the welfare schemes by the government.

She participated in the 93rd foundation day celebrations at the NTR Kalakshetram in Ongole on Thursday evening.

The joint collector announced that the Syndicate Bank is appreciable for its initiation in implementation of state and central government schemes in the district.

Being active in the district, she said that the Syndicate Bank is helping 20 to 25 thousand families by distributing loans. She said that the bank played a key role in disbursing loans like agriculture, tenant farmer loans, PMEGP, MSME, start up, stand up, Mudra and other loans to the eligible in the district.

She also appreciated the staff of Syndicate Bank for working tirelessly during the demonetisation period by ensuring cash availablity in the district.

The deputy regional manager Arun Prasad said that the Syndicate Bank is helping in its limits for the development of the customers keeping their confidence at the same time.

He said that the bank is also helping for the development of the nation by distributing loans to all kinds of people. The lead district manager Venkateswara Rao said that Syndicate Bank is the lead district for 29 districts in the country.

He announced that the bank started agriculture loans in 1964 itself and now has 5.60 crore customers, 4000 plus branches, 35000 plus staff and Rs 4.75 lakh crores turnover.

He said that there are Bank Mitras in 79 places and 36 ultra small branches in the district. He requested the cooperation of the customers for the development of the bank.

The bank staff felicitated the best customers and presented mementoes and prizes to the toppers in Class X and intermediate through the hands of the joint collector.
