Ongole: The Prakasam district unit of the Bharateeya Janata Party started relay hunger strike demanding justice to the victims of AgriGold, at the district collectorate on Friday.
The Prakasam district president of BJP, PV Krishnareddy said that there are lakhs of victims from eight states waiting for justice.
He said that there are about 82000 depositors and 15000 agents in the Prakasam district and a number of them have already resorted to suicide.
He alleged that the TDP leaders and their family members are trying to get the assets of the AgriGold at cheap prices in auctions.
He said that the Rs 5000 to 7000 crores worth of AgriGold assets are being calculated as Rs 700 crores worth only to make profit to their leaders.
He demanded the government to conduct transparent auction and provide justice to the victims immediately.
Krishnareddy said that the TDP is resorting to the cheap politics and alleging that BJP is behing the YSRCP, Janasena party leaders and even income tax raids.
He alleged that the state government is involved neck deep in corruption for the last four and half years and announced that the BJP will back the fight for justice by the AgriGold victims.
