Vijayawada: As part of the National Unity Day celebrations announced by the Central Government in connection with the birthday of first deputy prime minister of India, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, the Andhra Pradesh Special Protect Force (APSPF) took out a rally from Prakasam Barrage to the Secretariat at Velagapudi on Wednesday.

Commandant Dr Konda Narasimha Rao led the 300-strong rally which started at Prakasam Barrage and passed through Undavalli, Penumaka, Mandadam, and culminated at the Secretariat.

Four members of the group in special attire led the rally on two motorcycles with one holding the national flag and the other waving the SPF flag. The rally went around the Secretariat and turned back to Prakasam Barrage raising slogans of Bharat Mataki Jai. Assistant commandants P Satyam, K Krishnamurthy and K Venkateswara Rao and others participated in the rally.
