TTD may extend cashless medical facility for its staff

Tirupati: The TTD Trust Board formed a sub-committee to examine the possibility of extending cashless medical treatment for its employees in corporate hospitals like Apollo, Vijaya Hospitals in Chennai and CMC Hospital in Vellore.
More than 10,000 permanent employees have been working in the TTD for the last few decades. At present, the TTD employees can avail medical treatment at SVIMS Super Specialty Hospital and TTD Central Hospital here. Several TTD employees have been suffering from diseases like cardiovascular, cancer, tuberculosis and orthopaedic. The TTD employees are getting medical treatment at SVIMS for all the health problems.
However, some specialities are not having medical treatment either in SVIMS or TTD Central Hospital. Even, the medical reimbursement facility was only limited for few diseases, that too, with limitations. The TTD employees have been demanding the TTD Board to extend cashless medical facility at Chennai and Bengaluru.
Now, the TTD is spending Rs 4.5 crore per annum for its employees towards medical facilities. If the TTD implements cashless medical treatment at corporate hospitals, then the cost will go up to Rs 6 crore per annum. The sub-committee formed to examine cashless treatment had met four times and studied on implementing the cashless medical package to the TTD employees.
The panel has prepared a report and will submit the same to TTD EO on or before November 17. Most likely, the TTD Trust Board will discuss and finalise the cashless treatment for its employees in the next meeting which will be held on November 27. Speaking to The Hans India, sub-committee member and SWUF General Secretary G Venkatesh said that it is a long pending demand of the TTD employees.
He stated that employees thanked TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal and Chairman P Sudhakar Yadav for taking initiative to extend cashless medical treatment for its employees. If all goes well, our employees will get cashless medical facility soon, he added.
