Vijayawada: A bike rally would be organised by the Andhra Pradesh Government Colleges Contract Lecturers Association to gather support of the students and their parents to bring pressure on the government to regularise the contract lecturers and solve their demands, said the association general secretary, BJ Gandhi here on Sunday.

He said that the rally would commence from Kuppam, Kurnool and Srikakulam between November 26 and December 2.

Addressing a media, Gandhi said that bike rally would be organised from three places across the state and culminate into a protest at Intermediate Commissioner Office in Guntur on December 3.

He said that the government had appointed an MLC Committee to bring out a solution to solve their problems and regularise contract lecturers. In March, 2018 the committee had given recommendations to the government to resolve their demands.

Gandhi said that even after the MLC recommendations, the government had not taken any action to solve the problems of the contract lecturers, he added.

Association president Sinivas Yadav, vice-president Vijayabheri, Haranatha Reddy and other members of the association were present.
