Free cancer screening camp conducted in Vijayawada
To provide better services to people of Andhra Pradesh, Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute organised a free health camp at the Vijayawada Information Centre here on Sunday
Vijayawada: To provide better services to people of Andhra Pradesh, Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute organised a free health camp at the Vijayawada Information Centre here on Sunday.
A total of 90 patients were screened at the free cancer screening camp which includes 40 men and 50 women patients. A total of 50 ultrasound tests were conducted, 10 X-Rays were taken, 20 Mammograms and 25 pap smear tests were conducted exclusively for women.
Out of 90 cases screened, six cases were suspected to be inflicted with cancer were identified.
After initial screening done by expert oncologists and based upon their advice, basic screening tests like Pap-smear for Women, Digital Mammogram, X-Ray were performed free of cost.
Based upon initial evaluation, those found suspect for the disease were sent for further evaluation at Hyderabad.
Dr Ravi Shankar, Dr Sravana Kumari, Dr Verendra Patil, Dr Gaurav participated in the camp.
