Vijayawada: Devarapalli Gagarin, a financier, was set afire by two persons at Governorpet here on Friday. According to sources, the victim was targeted by the owners of a finance company.According to Crime ACP Ramana Murthy, two persons threw petrol on Gagarin and set him on fire. About 80 per cent of his body suffered burn injuries and the condition of the victim was said to be critical.
A person who was present at the time of the incident at Besant Road said that the victim cried for help asking him to take him to the hospital. The victim reportedly revealed the names of the attackers as Madala Suresh and Madala Sudhakar. Dr Rama Rao of Andhra Hospital said that the victim's health condition is serious and it would take another 48 hours to review the condition.
