Tirupati: The annual verification of the jewellery of Lord Venkateswara (Thiruvabharanalu) began in the shrine on Thursday. A team of officials led by TTD deputy executive officer (treasury), including the experts who are the members of the Jewellery Technical Appraisers Committee (JTAC) are conducting the verification of the rare and precious ornaments that are being adorned to the deities in the temple.

TTD joint executive officer (Tirumala) K S Sreenivasa Raju speaking on the occasion said that the verification of the jewels was taking place near Sri Vishwakshena idol at Ramulavari Meda area in the sanctum of the high security temple.

All the ornaments that are being adorned to the deities in the shrine will be physically verified by the team to detect any changes in the ornaments that were recorded in the register maintained by TTD, he said, while adding that the verification work will be completed in 10-15 days. The team’s report revealing any change, damage, etc., found if any, will be submitted through EO to TTD Trust Board for further follow up, he said.
