Paddy farmers seek MSP
Farmers poured out their woes before YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Sunday during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra Jagan covered several villages in Srikakulam Assembly constituency as part his ongoing Padayatra On the occasion, paddy farmers told Jagan that they were not getting remunerative price
Srikakulam: Farmers poured out their woes before YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Sunday during his Praja Sankalpa Yatra. Jagan covered several villages in Srikakulam Assembly constituency as part his ongoing Padayatra. On the occasion, paddy farmers told Jagan that they were not getting remunerative price.
Due to delay in procurement of paddy this year, middlemen and traders were exploiting them by quoting price lesser than minimum support price (MSP) fixed for paddy by the government. Employees of 104 health ambulance services also met Jagan and explained that the government is yet to solve their problems as they were recruited during YS Rajasekhara Reddy regime.
They sought that the Opposition leader should intervene on the issues pertaining to their job security and payment of reasonable salary.
Jagan assured to solve their problems after assuming power. Victims of Kesava Reddy schools also called on Jagan and explained that the management of the schools collected up to Rs 5 lakh as deposits from them and later evaded repayment.
Government ordered a CID inquiry into the scam. Though the probe has been in progress for the last four years, they are yet to be provided any justice. Teaching and non-teaching staff of model schools also poured out their woes before the YSRCP president.
These schools were also set up during the regime of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. They alleged that the present government was promoting corporate schools and neglecting government institutions. Responding to their plea, Jagan assured to improve facilities in government schools and provide quality education to poor people.
