Vijayawada: Indian women cricket captain Mithali Raj launched a knee implant ‘Gender’specially designed for women by noted joint replacement surgeon Dr B Narendra Reddy, head of Sai Bhaskar Hospital, at Novatel Hotel here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mithali Raj opined that women can preserve their health with regular physical exercise, stress-free life and daily intake of food with calcium. Dr Reddy said that they have designed knee implant especially for women as the shape of knee in women differs from men.
Among those who participated in the programme include women cricket team members Ravi Kalpana, Veda Krishnamurthy, Arundhathi Reddy, former CEO of Vijayawada NTR health services Ravishankar Ayyannar, secretary of Vijayawada Orthopedic Association Karlapudi Vasu, joint replacement surgeons Dr N Jagadish and Dr Akarsh.
