Rajamahendravaram: Haridasu having a bowl (Akshaya Patra) on his head tied with a turban and a tambua with a hand wearing a colorful dress attracts people during Sankranthi festival. Haridasus will go to each house for bhiksha and respective housewives offer bhiksha with spiritual thinking that they are giving bhiksha to the god. This system is in force from many centuries.

A Haridas V Ramdas (80) is going for bhiksha on a moped with his grandson due to age factor. Though it is new, the people are offering bhiksha who is accepting it from the moped.

When asked about this, Haridasu Ramdas said it was inevitable to continue the tradition, which came from his forefathers since centuries. Because of age factor, it is a must to go on a moped to continue this.

Everyone should protect our tradition and culture which is the need of the hour, he averred.
