Kadapa: Chennamaraju Palli is a remote village falls under Proddatur mandal and lacks basic facilities like approach road and upper primary school.

Villagers and students were forced to walk 2 km up to Nakkapalle Gopavaram crossroads to attend upper primary school and catch RTC buses. There is no RTC service to the village and villagers were depending on auto-rickshaws during emergencies.

The local leaders brought the plight of the village to the notice of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during Nava Nirmana Deeksha held June last year. The Chief Minister immediately sanctioned Rs 4 crore for various developmental works.

On Monday, District Collector Ch Harikiran and Proddatur TDP in-charge N Varadarajulu Reddy have participated in the 6th phase of ‘Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru’ programme organised in the village.

The Collector laid foundation for the construction of upper primary school to be taken up at a cost of Rs 78.5 lakh, construction of church Rs 11.3 lakh and laying BT road between Chennamaraju Palli and Nakkapalle & Chennamaraju Palli and Gopavaram with as estimated cost of Rs 1.2 crore.
