Vizianagaram : Centenary celebrations of Maharaja Music College are concluded on a grand note. Legendary singer P Suseela, an old student of this college, participated in the event and became centre of attraction. Later the statue of Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao, veteran singer was unveiled.

Ratna Kumar, son of the great singer also participated in the programme. Addressing the meeting, veteran singer Suseela shared her experiences and memories with this town and music college. The speakers have applauded the services of this music college and explained how it supported the art and culture.

The school has produced thousands of students in various art forms like music, vocal , violin, tabala , nadaswaram, veena, Hari katha and many more. Now the students are spreading the auroma of music to various corners of the globe. Later District Collector M.Hari Jawaharlal stated that the music college has inspired several hundreds of persons to learn music. ``We all should proud to have such a historical institute here. Even at the age of 50, I am also inspired and want to learn Violin now,’’ he said.

Later Dr.S Swathi Rani, Chairperson of Zilla Parishad said it is a wonderful festival which she had attended so far. We should protect our traditions and culture and it is a treasure we can forward to our future generations, she said. On the third and closing day of the celebrations, musical concert was organised here which was attended by huge number of art lovers.
