Tablets to be distributed on Filaria Day
Municipal Corporation health officer Dr MVR Murthi has said that the government was taking steps to eradicate filaria and implementing many programmes in this regard
Rajamahendravaram: Municipal Corporation health officer Dr MVR Murthi has said that the government was taking steps to eradicate filaria and implementing many programmes in this regard.
Participating in a preparatory meeting held at corporation office here on Tuesday relating conductof Filaria Day on February 8, he said all the staff working in health department should participate in the massive programme.
He advised the people to take DEC tablets one day in a year to eradicate filaria and the corporation made necessary arrangements in this regard.
Deputy Medical and Health officer Dr Komala said National Filaria Day will be celebrated on February 8 and on that day DEC will be given to the people on a massive scale. Filaria is not a deadly disease and it needs prompt medicare for cure. Filaria affects legs and hands.
All the staff appointed in this regard should distribute tablets to everyone, she added.Corporation health wing staff Srinivasa Raju, G Suresh, Sudhakar, Raghava, Chaterhi, Nagamani and others were present.
