Arrangements have been made for hosting the threeday Gunadala Mary Matha annual festival commencing on Saturday in the city
Vijayawada: Arrangements have been made for hosting the three-day Gunadala Mary Matha annual festival commencing on Saturday in the city.
About ten lakh devotees belonging to all castes and creeds would throng the shrine.
Extensive transport arrangements were made by APSRTC officials and the Railways to provide transport facilities to the pilgrims.
The railways had arranged halts for many express trains at Gunadala, Ramavarappadu and Madhuranagar stations. The RTC will operate special buses.
The city police will regulate traffic to avoid inconvenience to pilgrims. The Revenue Department, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, AP Transco, Medical and Health departments and other officials will check the arrangements for the event.
Safety measures will be taken for those pilgrims who want to climb atop the hill.
Bbesides, medical camp, sanitation, toilets and drinking water facilities will be provided for the devotees. About 120 restrooms were arranged.
