Guntur: The chicken prices, which have been rising for quite some time in Guntur have suddenly and inexplicably come down for the past three days. The per kg rate of Chicken fell down from Rs 180 to Rs 130 by Friday.
Even during the Karthika month, where the meat consumption is less, the rates remained static. But, now the rates have come down. Market experts say that the price slashing may have happened because of the overproduction. Even the egg price has come down by 10 paise.
Traders say this is a temporary phenomenon and said the prices could go up in a matter of a week or ten days.
