Kambala Tank Park inaugurated

Rajamahendravaram: The renovated Kambala Tank Park (KTP) was dedicated to the people here on Wednesday. Godavari Urban Development Authority (GUDA) chairman Ganni Krishna has inaugurated the main gate while MLC Adireddy Appa Rao unveiled the plaque along with tea point of Girijan Cooperative Corporation (GCC).Later, GUDA chairman Ganni Krishna said that Kambala tank was cleaned under Sramadanam scheme on the call vgiven by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and since then the tank was maintained properly and later neglected.

Then a park was developed around the tank and it was developed with an amount of Rs 48 lakh along with an amount of Rs 97 lakh from Amrutha scheme, he said. An amount of Rs 14 lakh was spent for statue of former Lok Sabha Speaker GMC Balayogi. Pipelines are also being laid to avoid drain water into the tank by spending an amount of Rs 1.8 crore.

KTP is now having open air gym, walking track, play zone, view point, open air theatre, plazas and greenery along with lighting. Now KTP is the major entertainment centre to the people in the city.Aryapuram Cooperative Urban Bank chairman Challa Shankar Rao, deputy mayor Vasireddy Ramnabu and TDP leaders were present.
