Eluru: District Collector Praveen Kumar asked the district officials to get ready to conduct ensuing general elections without flaws.
He addresses a meeting with election nodal officers, election returning officers, assistant election returning officers here on Thursday.
He said that the administration had prepared a plan to conduct foolproof poll. All the election officials and staff will be trained in holding elections.
Appointment of nodal officers and special committees would be taken up soon to look after preparing polling stations, implementing poll code of conduct, nominations, expenditure of candidates, security arrangements, maintenance of strong room and various other aspects linked to conduct of polls, he explained.
He informed that out of 30.58 lakh voters registered in the district, women account for 15.49 lakh.
As many as 3411 polling booths were set up. With 18 returning officers, 48 AROs, 306 sector officers, 341 observers and 3411 booth officers, the polling would be held as per the plan, he added.
Later, addressing the media, the Collector called upon the voters to verify the voters list thoroughly to know whether their name is included in the list or not.
