Draft calendar with events: Collector K Bhaskar

Visakhapatnam: Collector K Bhaskar directed the heads of various departments to draft a year-wise calendar about the events proposed to be held in the district. The district is hosting a large number of state, national and international events including tourism, education, IT, trade, commerce, industrial, sports and games.

However, the organising departments failed to prepare any specific year-long calendar regarding the events all these years. The specially deputed teams and respective departments are conducting the events by giving publicity three-weeks ahead of the event.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the district administration to conduct at least one mega event in Visakhapatnam to popularise strategic advantage, resources and government’s reforms in the administration.

The government also directed various departments to arrange cultural and traditional events to make Visakhapatnam a big strategic location for investments in multiple sectors.

After taking charge, the Collector noticed that the departments are not preparing year-wise calendars about the events and directed them to prepare year-wise calendars and brochures about the events with clear schedules. With this directions, the officials are preparing calendars listing the annual festivals, programmes, summer camps and other competitions to be conducted in 2019-20.
