Kurnool: Discharging duties during elections is very critical compared to normal days, said Anantapur Range Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Kanthi Rana Tata.

A meeting was organised here to review security for the ensuing elections. The DIG lauded the Kurnool police for seizing unaccounted cash during vehicle checks and handing it over to concerned department. He appreciated Kurnool SP Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli for taking initiative in using technology.

The DIG directed the officials to coordinate with each other during elections to ensure no untoward incidents take place. Under any circumstances, cops have to curb illegal transportation of liquor, strictly implement Model Code of Conduct as per the EC orders, set up control rooms in sensitive and hypersensitive polling stations and installation of CCTV cameras at important junctions.

Dr Fakkeerappa, Raichur SP D Kishore Babu, Nagarkurnool SP Y Sai Sekhar and Gadwal Jogulamba SP KP Lakshmi Naik, Bellary ASP BN Lavanya, Kurnool trainee IPS officer Vidya Sagar Naidu, Additional (AR) SP I Venkatesh, DSPs and CIs have participated in the meeting.
