Eluru: With the Election Code of Conduct coming into force in the backdrop of ensuing MLC election in Godavari districts graduates’ constituency, the election officials have been ordered to remove hoardings, flexis, and posters belonging to political parties.

In-charge District Collector M Venugopal Reddy warned EROs, AEROs, RDOs, Tahsildars and other officials of stern action if they failed to remove the same with immediate effect to suit the poll code.

He convened a videoconference with the officials from Collectorate here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the in-charge Collector said that even though the Election Code came into force two days ago, political parties’ campaign material was still visible in many places.

It was the responsibility of the officials to remove the hoardings and posters to avoid action.

He asked the officials to visit villages and take measures for removal of hoardings on a war-footing.

The officials should visit the places along with a photographer in this regard, he added.
