Hyundai i20: Elite sells like hotcakes while Active is the Tatkal. In due course of time, Hyundai has cleverly carved a niche for the i20. The earlier version was a 5000-7000 average seller and the new i20 has been clocking over 10,000 unit sales for the last four months on the trot. Just to give you a perspective, the new i20 is a higher seller than the lower priced sibling Grand i10.

Ever since the second month of its launch, it has been continuously trending in the top 10 cars list per month. For the month of May, it featured just under WagonR, Dzire, Swift and Alto, at number five.

More hilarious is the fact that the cross segment of the car, i20 Active is also doing a brisk business, thanks to the prolonged waiting period for the Elite i20. Ironically, even employees of Hyundai have been calling the i20 Active as the i20 Tatkal.
