Volkswagen India on Friday launched the all-new Beetle in the country at a starting price of Rs 28.73 lakh. The new Volkswagen Beetle will be sold across select VW dealerships in India.

The new Volkswagen Beetle features a 1.4-litre TSI turbocharged petrol mill that, mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, produces 148bhp.

Features like 6 airbags, ESP and anti-lock braking system (ABS) make the Beetle quite a safe car to drive. Other key features are – panoramic sunroof, bi-xenon headlamps, leather interiors and chrome packages for interior & exterior.

Michael Mayer, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, “The Beetle is an iconic car that has scripted automotive history for over six decades, and we are delighted to announce the India launch of the 21st Century Beetle.

Carrying forward its unmistakably timeless charm, blended with modern day technological sophistication, the 21st Century Beetle now comes with rounded yet masculine proportions and a host of refined, irresistible internal and exterior features.

We are confident of continuing the Beetle’s legacy in India and we believe that the biggest addition to the 21st Century Beetle is the element of unlimited ‘fun’.”

Besides new design, the new-generation Volkswagen Beetle underpins an all-new platform and is wider and lower than the discontinued model. The vehicle’s cabin too is completely different with better quality material.
