BMW gears up to publicly reveal their new BMW 740e plug-in hybrid at Geneva Motor Show opening on 1st March 2016.Prior to unveiling their new 7 Series hybrid to the public, BMW has revealed the car online. The new BMW 7 Series Hybrid will be offered with new iPerformance brand. 2017 BMW 740e lineup will include 740e iPerformance, 740Le iPerformance and all wheel drive derive740Le xDrive iPerformance.

Engine specifications on the new 7 Series range includes a twin turbocharged, four cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor. These together offer a total of 326 hp power and an all electric drive range of 40 km where the Plug-in Hybrid BMW 740e and 740Le iPerformance is concerned, going down to 37 km on the all wheel drive variant.

The internal combustion engine is capable of 258 hp power and 295 lb/fto torque at 1,250 to 4,800 rpm which enables the 7 Series to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.5 seconds. Fuel efficiency stands at 2.1 to 2.3 liters per 100 km (47.61 kmpl) while auto emissions are at 49 gms of CO2 per km. Charging of the 9.2 kWh battery is possible via a domestic power socket in 4 hours while via a BMW I Wallbox, full charge is achieved in under 3 hours.

New BMW 7 Series Hybrid is offered in four driving modes of Eco, Pro, Comfort and Sport besides a configurable Adaptive mode while Driving Experience Control switch is a new feature offered on the BMW Plug-in 7 Series range. More details will be revealed once the car debuts at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
