The new SEAT Ateca SUV is unveiled ahead of 2016 Geneva Motor Show.SEAT Ateca SUV is based on VW’s MQB platform. Set for sales in international markets later this year, this is the first ever new gen SUV from Spanish car brand SEAT.

The new Ateca SUV will be powered by engine options that include a 1.0 liter TSI offering 113 bhp power and 148 bhp besides a 1.4 liter TSI engine. Diesel engine options include a1.6 liter TDI capable of 113 bhp peak power and 2.0 liter RDI offering 148 bhp and 187 bhp power. All engines are mated to manual transmission or dual clutch DSG gearbox. The SEAT Ateca SUV will be offered as a front wheel drive as standard while all wheel drive will be presented as options.

Sporting a new trapezoidal grille in the front, SEAT Ateca SUV gets LED headlights as option along with roof rails, tailgate spoiler and plastic body cladding.

Interiors receive a three spoke steering wheel and push button ignition while where infotainment is concerned, it will be an 8” display and Connectivity Box with wireless charge for smartphones that will be seen. The Ateca receives a host of safety features such as traffic jam assist system with automatic accelerate, steer and brake at lower speeds.

Blind spot detection, rear traffic alert, top view camera and traffic sign recognition will also form its safety features. Prices have not been revealed and could be disclosed closer to launch date. Once launched, it will compete with Nissan Qashqai, Renault Kadjar, Mazda CX-5, Hyundai ix35 and the Ford Kuga.
