The 110cc Honda Dio was launched in the year 2002 and has been doing well in the domestic as well as export markets. According to Honda, the Dio is the no.1 export model for the bike maker. It is being exported to Colombia, Mexico and neighbouring countries like Sri Lanka and Nepal.
The 2016 Honda Dio has now been launched in the market with mild cosmetic changes. The scooter now comes with a new Matte Axis Grey colour with the addition of a 3D Emblem on the body. Apart from these minor changes, the Honda Dio remains the same.
The price hasn’t been increased and it comes with a price tag of Rs. 48,264/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Dio previously had four colours on offer – blue, green, red and black. There are no changes on the mechanical front as well.
The Honda Dio comes with a 109cc, air-cooled engine that produces 8 BHP of power at 7000 RPM and 8.77 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM mated to an automatic transmission. The Dio has a top speed of 83 km/hr. It comes with Honda’s HET technology and returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 60 km/l.
This new update has been launched as Honda achieves 10 lakh sales milestone in the Indian market. The new Honda Dio is the sixth new model in their lineup for 2016. Many interested buyers might be disappointed with the few or no changes on the Dio.
People who are opting for the other colours apart from grey are getting nothing but a 3D emblem. However, buyers seeking for a new all-dark masculine colour on the Dio can now get their hands on it.
