The reason behind latest recall is Takata airbags.As part of a global recall campaign, Honda Cars India announced yet another voluntary recall today. The latest recall will affect a total of 190,578 cars. All the affected cars are old generation variants, and none of them are on sale as of today.

The reason behind latest recall is Takata airbags.As part of a global recall campaign, Honda Cars India announced yet another voluntary recall today. The latest recall will affect a total of 190,578 cars. All the affected cars are old generation variants, and none of them are on sale as of today.

Latest Honda car recall has affected old generation variants of Accord, CR-V, Civic, City and Jazz. The recall will replace Takata passenger front airbag inflators in all affected cars.


Old generation Honda City is the most affected. 137,270 of Honda City manufactured between 2008 – 2011 have been recalled. Then comes Honda Accord, manufactured between 2003 – 2011. Total number of affected units = 22,483. Below is the detailed table –

Honda says that the replacement will be carried out free of cost at all authorized dealerships in a phased manner. First, HCIL will be fixing the airbag inflators of affected CR-Vs and Civic, followed by City, Jazz and Accord. Those customers whose cars have been affected by this recall, the company will communicate with customers directly.


The customers can check whether their cars are covered under this campaign by submitting their 17 character alpha-numeric Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the special microsite which has been created on the company’s website (www.hondacarindia.com).
