The focus will on SUVs.Buoyed by the Renault Kwid’s success in the Indian market, the French automaker is gearing up for an aggressive product plan. A recent media reports says that Renault India is planning to launch 5 new cars in the next three years.

This launch plan is in addition to the refreshes and variant extensions of the existing models such as the 1.0-litre variant of the Kwid.First of the new products to be launched here is reported to be the Renault Megane sedan which will premiere at the Paris Motor Show. The Megane sedan will replace the Fluence in India and is likely to go on sale here in early 2017.

The SUVs will be the focus of Renault India’s product onslaught. The second product to be launched in India would be the next gen Renault Koleos which was unveiled in China earlier this year. With a brand new design inside out, the new Koleos will target the Hyundai Santa Fe when hits our market either in end-2017 or early-2018.

The third product in the pipeline is said to be the Kaptur 7-seat crossover which will have the Hyundai Creta in its crosshairs. The compact SUV would follow the Koleos closely into India. 2018-19 would witness the launch of a utilitarian van in the lines of Maruti Eeco and a sub-4 metre Vitara Brezza rival. The last two products will be based on the Kwid’s CMF-A platform.
