Speaking on driverless technologies in agricultural tractors, Mahindra drew attention to the urgent need to enhance productivity to cater to the demands of a growing population. An entry into this autonomous tractor technology according to Mahindra, could change the future of food production.

While driverless cars are still being viewed with some trepidation, driverless tractors could be more easily accepted. This is one area where accidents and collisions are not just few and far between but practically nonexistent.

Mahindra Group also investing in future of mobility with new products being planned on the basis of mobility sharing with other companies. Recently Mahindra Partners announced investment in Scoot Network with 500 Mahindra GenZe electric scooters making their way to San Francisco.

Last October, the company launched SmartShift for Indian cargo owners and transport companies on the same likes as Ola and Uber. Cargo users can access SmartShift through mobile app or website and call center to avail this facility. Trringo is another launch by the company allowing farmers to hire tractors for limited time periods via the mobile app which will be available in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, MP and Karnataka by the end of this year.
