Lamborghini has launched the Aventador S Roadster in India and it is priced at Rs 5.79 crore (ex-showroom, pan-India). The sports car has also been showcased at the ongoing Frankfurt Motor Show. The Aventador S Roadster is an open top version of the Aventador S coupe that was launched earlier this year.

Since the Aventador S Roadster is based on the Aventador S coupe, looks-wise, there isn’t much that differentiates the open-top car from the coupe version except for the roof and the rear-end. The signature Raging Bull adorned front fascia is aggressively designed, including the splitters. The company claims that the front downforce has increased by 130 percent and with the rear-wing in its optimum position, Lamborghini claims that the Roadster is 50 percent more efficient in high downforce setting.

Unlike the Aventador S coupe, the Roadster gets a two-tone black and beige combination dashboard. There is an electric rear window which helps in reducing the wind noise even when the roof is off. Due to the open top roof, the Roadster has gained 50 kgs, but again, the company has used carbon fibre extensively to keep the weight as well as performance figures in check.

Powering the Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster is a 6.5-litre V12 engine that produces 740 HP and 690 Nm of torque (same as the coupe). A seven-speed transmission sends power to all the four wheels. 0-100 km/hr comes up in just three seconds. This Raging Bull is insanely fast and the top speed of 350 km/hr speaks for itself.

The Roadster is suspended via an active front and rear suspension with horizontal dampers and springs. There are carbon ceramic disc brakes all-around that do the braking duties.

Like its coupe sibling, the Roadster also gets the four-wheel steering system, Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS) and four driving modes – (Strada, Corsa, Sport and Ego) which allow the driver to change the suspension as well as drivetrain settings.
