After much anticipation, TVS has finally launched the dual-channel ABS-equipped variant of the Apache RTR 200 4V. The company has set a price tag of Rs 1,08,899 (ex-showroom Mumbai) for the same. This is a premium of around Rs 16,000 over the stock bike. Dealers in Mumbai have already started accepting bookings for a token amount of Rs 5,000, with deliveries set to begin soon.

What’s surprising though is that ABS is offered only on the carburetted version and not on the fuel-injected (Fi) variant. This might seem like a smart move to take on its closest competitor, the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 ABS, which comes with a single-channel ABS unit and is priced at Rs 1,08,883 (ex-showroom Mumbai). But, this could also hamper the sales of the Fi model because it is priced at Rs 1,08,700 (ex-showroom Mumbai), which is only Rs 200 less than the carbed ABS Apache RTR 200.

In terms of design, the motorcycle remains unchanged. It carries the same street fighter stance with its chiselled and lean look, with just the right amount of muscle. Other features like the digital instrument cluster, LED taillamp and DRLs too remain the same.

The carburetted Apache RTR 200 4V ABS is powered by the same 198cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine of the stock bike. It churns out 20.3PS of power at 8,500rpm and 18.1Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. The suspension duties here are handled by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock unit at the rear. In terms of braking, the RTR 200 4V gets a 270mm petal disc at the front and a 240mm petal disc at the rear.
