The sixth edition of the premier drag racing event will see India’s fastest cars and bikes battle for top honours
The Valley Run has made quite a name for itself among Indian enthusiasts and speed freaks, attracting the fastest cars and bikes across the country for a spot of drag racing. Organised by Elite Octane Inc., the three day event is held at the Amby Valley air strip (hence the name Valley Run).
For the uninitiated, a drag race has a car or bike accelerate from standstill down a quarter mile-long straight. The car or bike that covers the quarter mile distance in the shortest time is the winner. The race has two cars/bikes race side by side to add to the drama as well as judge the driver’s/rider’s reaction time and skill.
In the Valley Run’s case the winners receive a cash prize of upto Rs 50,000. Its categories encompass everything from domestic and international class for both 2-stroke and 4-stroke bikes to Indian and foreign cars (petrol and diesel class).
